Promo Trends 2020 for Fall Apparel

As we are saying goodbye to summer, it is time to look into fall and winter and see the 2020 fall apparel and color trend. This year, apparel trends are looking a little different. There is a huge emphasis on comfort, and comfort clothes are everywhere. Layering is still going strong. What about colors that spark joy and calm? Intrigued? Let’s dive right into the promo trends of 2020!

Bright Colors = Mood Boosters

Bright color fleece from Bella Canvas

We are in the 6th month of the pandemic, and for many of us, have been cooped up for way too long. How would you like a dose of bright colors? Wearing a sunny yellow and a spirited green can do a lot for someone’s spirits. Companies and consumers are seeking out energy boosting colors to lift their moods and spread a positive vibe. Look for bright reds, sunny yellow, lime green and other fluorescent hues. The new colors from Bella Canvas street wear fleece collection are exactly on point. Our brand new Cotopaxi bags could not have arrived at a better time!

Workleisure

As New York Times fashion editor Vanessa Friedman calls it, Workleisure “begins with the basics of the off-duty wardrobe (T-shirts, pullovers, track pants) translated in the materials and details of the office“.  The pandemic and the emergence of “zoom style outfits” has accelerated the shift to casual workwear. While in the beginning it was acceptable to wear PJ or sweatpants in zoom meetings, I think we have got past that haven’t we?

Here are a few things to illustrate workleisure:

  • Knit jackets of all styles (look dressed up but also comfortable for roaming around the house).
  • Button-down shirts of all fabrications and styles (perfect for looking business-ready but not too over-the-top).
  • T-Shirts with special elements (think lace, embroidery, luxe material)
  • Performance tees with fashion styling (moisture-wicking, antimicrobial fabric that has a great drape to it)
  • Layering pieces like sleeveless tanks, cardigans
  • Sweatshirt hoodies and crew necks (think neutral hues such as oatmeal heather, vintage white or ecru colors for a premium business vibe).”

Calming, Neutral Tones

Just as much as we need bright hues to lighten up our day, calming neutral colors are there to balance it all out. Vintage white, oatmeal, ecru, mauve and other neutral tones are some examples of great neutral colors that have been trending. They are alternatives to straight forward white or black colors. They evoke bliss, calm and content. Furthermore, it is completely business appropriate, great for laying with other colors for contrasting. The word “comfort” comes up a lot in the last few months in social media as people are hunkered down in their homes, and these colors are perfect portrayals of the definition.

Our workplace and society are forever changed by COVID-19, so is our wardrobe and business apparel style. As the line between business and leisure wear continue to blur, we expect to see more leisure, athletic inspired business apparel. Fashion is an expression of moods, personality and state of mind, when are restricted in our normal socializing pattern, people are turning to the clothes they wear as a form of expression more than ever. It will only get more interesting from here!

When exploring apparel options in workwear or promotional purposes, keeping the fall apparel and color trends 2020 in mind will keep your apparel choices fresh and relevant. Workwear is also great addition to wellness kits to clients or employees.
