The beginning of the year means it time to plan the marketing activities for the year. For many companies, trade shows and expos is a huge part of their marketing plan. It is a way to meet new clients, promote new products and services and network with industry professionals. Once you have booked the booth, what else should you have in order to have a successful show that will hit all your marketing goals?
1. Tradeshow Display
Setting up a trade show booth is crucial for an exhibitor. The good news is, tradeshow display is something you purchase once and can use it multiple times. A full color dye-sublimated table cloth, banner stand, flags, retractable banner, when strategically put together will give tradeshow attendees the great first impression when approaching your booth. When it comes to designing tradeshow display, remember ‘Less is More’. Highlight what your company is about in less than a couple of sentences. Fill the display in eye-catching graphics and use high quality materials and you will be off to a great start!
2. Custom Merchandise, marketing collaterals
Custom printed promotional products is what the attendees will walk away with after visiting your booth. Let your marketing collaterals and promotional products tell a story about your brand. Put the marketing message on carefully thought out promotional products. Custom printed pen, logo notebook, custom printed water bottle or promotional tote bags are common promotional products but with the appropriate marketing message accompanied by a great design, it becomes a marketing vehicle that will drive thousands of impressions.
3. Create an experience
Whatever industry you maybe in, can you create a tradeshow experience that spark any of your five sense – sight, sound, flavor, smell and touch? Give the attendee a chance to experience your products or services through games, videos, music, tastings. With experience the sky is the limit! Make it interactive and fun, they will not forget the experience!
4. Staff the booth
A tradeshow booth’s success has everything to do with the staff, dress your staff smart with matching company apparel – logo polo, logo embroidered hats, or screenprinted t-shirts. Review the tradeshow plan ahead of time so they know what to expect with clear goals, whether it is contact information or number of meetings scheduled. Most of all, have fun with it! A light and fun environment will work best for both staff and attendees!
5. Post-show followup
Once you have a list of contact information and meetings scheduled, don’t forget to follow up! This is the most important part of the trade show that is sometimes overlooked. Continuous communication overtime will become real business.
