One of our favorite memories in our school years is Spirit Days – where we can all dress in school gear and show our love and pride. In the age of online learning, many schools are hoping to continue the tradition, which is more important than ever so students stay engaged and connected with the school community. An elementary school in California has a predicament – they want kids to feel as if they were in physical school by having spirit day themed events, but don’t want to jeopardize having in person spirit wear sale. We worked with the school to select apparel style and other spirit wear items that best fit the community fundraising goals and style needs. For elementary school aged children, t-shirt and sweatshirts matching school colors and logos are a must. Headwear such as caps and visors are favorites all year long. Adult and youth face masks are definitely in demand and complete the outfit. A logo stuffed animal mascot toy is always a favorite among the children!
Pop-up fundraising store logistics
Once the school selected the items they want to offer in the store, all they to do next is approve all mockups and site layout, as well as determining the length the of the fundraiser. When an organization works with us to setup a fundraising pop-up store, we take care of mockup, online store setup, listing, we even create a digital flyer to market the online store on social media!
We recommend a few important marketing steps to insure a successful fundraiser, including sending out e-newsletter and social media posts. For schools, usually the communication or social media coordinator can take care of the tasks.
The pop-up fundraising store ran for 4 weeks before the holidays, and many families purchased items as holiday gifts. Over 50 families bought online and amount raised were comparable to previous in person sales. The best part of this fundraiser is that no volunteers were needed, people were safe and kids get to show their school spirit virtually. It was a win-win for everyone.
