Printing methods on custom promotional water bottles

Custom printed water bottles is one of the most popular promotional products. Promotional water bottles these days come in all shapes, materials and sizes. Many are comparable to retail brands, what is not to love? The demands of different print techniques are also on the rise on this high-demand promotional product. No matter how the company logo is, there is definitely a way to get it on a water bottle!

1. Screen Print

Back in the day, the only print method for water bottles is one color imprint and it is mostly done by screen printing. When a design is produced using the screen printing method, actual screens are used. First, a screen is cut to make a stencil for the design. Ink is then spread over the screen, passing through to the object underneath only in the areas you want it to be. Only one color per screen is allowed, so depending on the number of colors in the logo, there will be multiple screens needed to print the logo. This method is the fastest and most cost effective, however, if you have more than one color in your logo, the cost can quickly add up.

2. Full Color Digital

For logos that are full color, which many are these days, full color digital imprint is the way to go. A digital printer is used to print the logo directly on the item. CMYK (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black) inks are used so this method can reproduce pretty much any color on the spectrum.  This is especially useful for designs that have gradient or with photographic image. However, the turnaround time is usually longer and it will cost slightly more. Plastic, stainless water bottles can be digitally printed but make sure to check which style is available with full color imprint!

3. Laser Engrave

This method only works on metal water bottles such as stainless steel and aluminum – but the effects can be classic and elegant. A laser is used to carve away the top layer of the water bottle, exposing the material underneath. The result is a long lasting imprint that you can feel, and it will never come off! Due to the process, there is no color imprint in laser engrave either, the color of the imprint will depend on the color of the material underneath. The great thing about this method is that the details are precise and clean, but it will not work on logos with multiple colors.
